Three nurses and a patient have been injured during an incident with a female patient in a Sydney hospital last night.
Police have been told that shortly before 8.30pm (Saturday 4 May 2019) a nurse caring for a patient called other staff for assistance when the patient became agitated.
Two of her colleagues immediately came to her aid.
It’s alleged the patient grabbed hold of a nurse and removed her scissors. Two nurses suffered cuts to their arms and another suffered a wound to their back before the patient entered a neighbouring room where she allegedly assaulted another patient.
Hospital security and nearby nurses and doctors intervened and restrained the woman until arrival of police from Inner West Police Area Command.
The patient is now under police guard in hospital as inquiries continue.
