Pedestrian seriously injured in crash, NSW

A pedestrian has been seriously injured following a crash in Sydney’s south-west overnight.

About 7.15pm yesterday (Saturday 20 August 2022), emergency services responded to reports a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Punchbowl Road and Bouvardia Street, Wiley Park.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 37-year-old male pedestrian at the scene before he was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command established a crime scene that was examined by specialist officers and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.

The driver of the vehicle – an 18-year-old man – was taken to Bankstown Hospital for mandatory testing.
