Pedestrian struck by truck at Murray Bridge, South Australia

A young man has died after being hit by a truck at Murray Bridge last night.

Police and emergency services were called to the South Eastern Freeway, Murray Bridge about 10.20pm on Sunday 23 August.

The 19-year-old Millicent man was struck by a truck travelling west on the South Eastern Freeway, about one kilometre from Swanport Bridge. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The truck driver was not injured.

Major Crash investigators attended the scene and are investigating the circumstances that led to the crash.

The young man’s death is the 60th life lost on South Australian roads so far this year. The road toll at the same time last year was 75.
