Brisbane police are appealing for public assistance after a teenage girl was dragged into bushes and assaulted at Chermside West this afternoon.
The 16-year-old was walking on the footpath in Kittabilla Street, near the intersection with Craigslea Street, at around 12.15pm when a man walked up beside her.
The man placed his hand over the girl’s mouth and pulled her into nearby bushes. The girl struggled, kicking the man and managing to break free from his grasp and run off.
The man was last seen running in Buran Street, Chermside West.
He is described as Caucasian, aged possibly in his late 20s to early 30s, approximately 185cms tall with a proportionate build and stubble on his face.
The man was wearing a black baseball cap, black framed sunglasses with orange reflector lenses, a white t-shirt and black baseball short.
Police are appealing for anyone who:
- Noticed a man acting suspiciously or seemed out of place in Chermside West today; or
- Any motorists who may have driven in the vicinity of the assault between 11.30 and 12.45am today; or
- Any home owners who live in the vicinity of where the assault occurred who may have CCTV
to contact police (details below).
The girl fortunately was not physically injured however was naturally distraught by the incident.
