Police appeal for information: Serious e-scooter collision with pedestrian in Springfield Central, QLD

Detectives from Ipswich Child Protection and Investigation Unit have released footage as part of an ongoing investigation into a pedestrian and e-scooter incident on April 5 in Springfield Central.

Two male riders doubled on an e-scooter allegedly struck a 4-year-old boy around 6.30pm near a restaurant dining precinct of a major shopping complex on Main Street.

The riders were thrown from the e-scooter, and both fled the scene without assisting the boy.

They left in the direction of the Lagoon and car park area, with one running alongside the other who rode the e-scooter.

The four-year-old male pedestrian was transported to hospital with serious head injuries.

The riders are believed to be Caucasian teenage boys.

One was seen wearing a grey-hooded jumped with black pants and a bum bag across the chest.

The other teenager was wearing a long dark-sleeved shirt with white stripe detail on the sleeves, with grey shorts and a dark cap.

Detectives appeal for any witnesses to come forward, especially multiple bystanders who stopped to help the injured child.

Nearby businesses with CCTV or anyone else with information that may assist investigators are urged to make contact.

Anonymous reports can be made.
