A man has died following a fatal crash at Smithfield earlier this month.
Just after 2.30pm on Thursday 4 January, police were called to the intersection of Anderson Walk and Main North Road following reports of a crash between a Hyundai sedan and a Mazda station wagon.
The driver and sole occupant of the Hyundai, a 83-year-old Andrews Farm man was taken to the Lyell McEwin hospital, where sadly today, 24 January he died.
The driver of the Mazda was not injured.
Major Crash Investigators will examine the circumstances of the crash.
The man’s death is the 3rd life lost compared with 9 at the same time last year.
