Police Charge Two Over Serious Assault – Oran Park

Two people have been charged over an alleged serious assault in Sydney’s southwest yesterday.

About 2am (Tuesday 20 October 2026), emergency services were called to Grassbird Avenue, Oran Park, following reports of an assault.

Officers attached to Camden Police Area Command attended and were told two males had allegedly gained access to a red sedan parked on the street before they were confronted by the owner of the car – a 63-year-old man – who was holding a long pole.

Police will allege one of the males then took the pole from the 63-year-old man before assaulting him with it.

The second male also allegedly assaulted the 63-year-old before the pair left the scene.

The 63-year-old man was treated at the scene for injuries to his head and body, before he was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the incident commenced.

Following inquiries, about 3.15am the same day, police arrested a 17-year-old boy and 20-year-old man on Central Avenue, Oran Park.

They were taken to Narellan Police Station where they were both charged with cause grievous bodily harm to person with intent.

The 17-year-old boy was refused bail and appeared before a children’s court yesterday, where he was granted conditional bail to reappear on Monday 14 December 2026.

The 20-year-old man was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 3 today (Wednesday 21 October 2026).
