Police arrest driver at Gepps Cross, South Australia

One man was arrested after driving the wrong way on Main North Road last night.

About 9pm on Sunday 2 October, police spotted a vehicle travelling north at speed along Main North Road, Enfield without lights, in the northbound lane.

The patrol attempted to pull over the vehicle but the driver refused to stop.

At the intersection of Grand Junction Road, Gepps Cross the Volkswagen continued north but switched into the southbound lane of Main North Road for a short distance before turning into the Woolworths Distribution Centre car park.

He was quickly apprehended in the vehicle. The 20-year-old Salisbury North man was arrested and charged with speed dangerous and give false answer to identity of driver.

He did not apply for bail and will appear in court tomorrow, Tuesday 4 October.

His car was impounded for 28 days.

Fortunately there were no injuries or damage, with the incident lasting less than a minute.
