A driver was arrested at Klemzig after a car failed to stop for police at Edinburgh overnight.
About 11.45pm on Saturday 17 October, a patrol tried to pull over a Commodore on West Avenue at Edinburgh, but the driver refused to stop.
The police helicopter (PolAir) was called in to assist and monitored the vehicle from the air as it headed south on Main North Road at speed.
Patrols didn’t pursue the car but managed to deploy road spikes in front of it on O.G. Road near Fox Avenue at Klemzig.
While unsuccessfully attempting to avoid the road spikes, the car lost control and crashed into a Stobie pole and a car yard fence, damaging a vehicle inside the yard.
The male driver and female passenger ran from the scene but were apprehended a short distance away. They were both taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.
The driver, a 30-year-old man from Davoren Park, was arrested and is expected to face traffic charges of driving without due care, unregistered, uninsured and unlicensed and failing to stop for police. He also had two outstanding warrants and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
