Police arrest four over abduction and assault at Oaklands Park, South Australia

Three men and a woman have been arrested after they allegedly abducted, assaulted and robbed a man known to them at Oaklands Park overnight.

Police will allege at about 8pm on Friday 16 October, a group of four people allegedly lured the man to a home at Oaklands Park, assaulted him, stripped him of his clothing and then forced him to transfer money from his bank account.

The group then contacted a relative of the victim’s and demanded they bring jewellery and clothing to an Oaklands Park address or they would stab the victim.

Southern District Police were contacted over the incident and just after 11.30pm located the 21-year-old male victim inside a house in Lucknow Street.

Also at the premises were a 24-year-old man from Happy Valley, a 20-year-old woman from McCracken and two men aged 35 and 38-years-old from Oaklands Park. They have all been arrested and charged with abduction, unlawful detention, aggravated assault and aggravated robbery. They have all been refused police bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Monday 19 October.

The victim didn’t require medical treatment and was conveyed to his home address of Christie Downs by police.

Police wish to reinforce this incident is not random and it involved persons known to each other.
