Police arrest man after a robbery and pursuit, South Australia

A man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting a man and stealing his car at Seaford last night.

Just after 9pm Tuesday 14 April the victim was in his blue Ford Territory in the car park of a fast food restaurant on Commercial Road when he was approached by the suspect who assaulted him and stole his car.

Patrols flooded the area and saw the stolen car on States Road where they commenced pursuing the vehicle. The car was followed around the southern suburbs including Bains Road, Main South Road, Reynell Road before the car headed into the Christies Beach area.

The Police Helicopter, PolAir took over the pursuit and commenced tracking the vehicle around Christies Beach, Christie Downs and Noarlunga Centre. The car was spiked on Gulfview Road but continued to driving until it was spiked a second time on Elizabeth Road Christie Downs.

The car pulled into the car park of the Noarlunga Hospital where the driver and sole occupant was arrested without incident.

The 32-year-old man from Seaford Rise has been charged with a number of serious offences including aggravated robbery, driving dangerously to escape police pursuit, possess prohibited weapon and driving disqualified. He was refused bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court today Wednesday 15 April.

SAAS treated the victim at the scene before taking him to the Noarlunga Hospital for treatment.
