Police arrest man after deceptions in Broadmeadows

A 25-year-old Warrandyte man has been arrested and another man remains unidentified following deceptions at stores in Broadmeadows and the Melbourne CBD last month.

Detectives have been told the victim’s credit card was possibly stolen from his letterbox in the weeks preceding.

The credit card was allegedly used in retail outlets on 22 March to make a series of purchases throughout Broadmeadows and Melbourne between 2.30am and 12pm.

The unknown man is perceived to be Middle-Eastern in appearance, in his early 20s, around 170cm tall with a solid build and short brown hair.

At the time of the incident he was seen wearing a white baseball cap, glasses with a dark-coloured rim, a white and red Adidas singlet, black Adidas shorts and carrying a black shoulder bag.

Investigators have released an image of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Anyone who recognises this man is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au

The Warrandyte man was released pending summons to appear in court at a later date.
