Police arrest man after suspicious death of woman in Como

A man has been arrested following the suspicious death of a woman in Sydney’s south overnight.

About 12.30am (Tuesday 20 October 2020), emergency services were called to a unit complex in Cremona Road, Como following reports the body of a woman was found in a driveway.

While she has not been formally identified, it’s believed to be a 39-year-old woman.

Officers from Sutherland Shire Police Area Command established a crime scene and, under Strike Force Neale, commenced an investigation with assistance from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.

Following extensive inquiries, a 39-year-old man, who was known to the woman, was arrested at a home in Sylvania just after 9.30am today.

He was taken to Sutherland Police Station to assist investigators with their inquiries.

Investigations are continuing.
