Police Arrest Man After West Wodonga Armed Robbery

Wodonga Crime Investigation Unit (CIU) detectives have arrested one man following an armed robbery in West Wodonga last month.

It is alleged two men attended a bottle shop on Melrose Drive about 9.20pm on Friday, 23 February.

One of the men allegedly stole alcohol and the second man allegedly threatened a staff member with a machete before stealing a slab of beer.

There were no physical injuries.

Both men fled the scene in a blue sedan.

Wodonga CIU detectives arrested a 23-year-old Wodonga man yesterday.

He has been charged with theft and bailed to appear at the Wodonga Magistrates’ Court on 25 June.

Police are yet to identify the second person involved.

Investigators have released CCTV and an image of a car and a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

He was wearing a white coloured hoodie with motif, cream-coloured skinny jeans and black shoes.
