Police arrest man at Novar Gardens incident, South Australia

A man has been arrested following an incident at Novar Gardens this morning.

Just before 11.30am Monday 22 June, police were called to a Camden Park home after residents reported a disturbance with a man known to them.

The man left prior to police arrival and allegedly assaulted another person in a nearby street before entering a home in Marsh Court.

Police attended the home in Marsh Court to speak to the man, before he allegedly made threats to harm officers with a weapon and refused to come out of the house.

With the assistance of police negotiators and STAR Group officers, a 39-year-old man along with three other occupants exited the house just after 2.30pm. The suspect was placed under arrest without incident.

A woman inside the home received a small cut to her foot from a broken window. The other occupants and the 39-year-old were not injured.

He is expected to be charged with assault later this afternoon. Police searched the home and did not locate any weapons.

Anyone with further information who has not yet spoken to police is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report on line at www.crimestopperssa.com.au – you can remain anonymous.
