Police arrest man during attempted armed robbery in Engadine

Police have charged a man after he allegedly attempted to rob a bottle shop in the state’s south last night.

Shortly before 10pm (Saturday 7 December 2019), a man entered a bottle shop, attached to a hotel, on Railway Parade, Engadine, with a stocking over his head.

A manager of the hotel saw what was unfolding and immediately contacted security staff.

The armed man ran from the location with officers giving chase heading towards Station Street. As he approached the Princes Highway one officer tackled the man and managed to make the arrest.
