Police arrest man for aggravated robbery at Christie Downs, South Australia

A Christie Downs man has been arrested following an aggravated robbery at a service station last night.

Just after 6.30pm on Friday 15 October, a man jumped the counter of a service station on Dyson Road, Christies Beach. He was armed with a screwdriver and allegedly threatened the console operator with it, demanding cigarettes.

The man subsequently left the service station with cigarettes.

Southern District Police attended the service station and located the screwdriver. They apprehended the suspect, a 25-year-old man from Christie Downs, about 150m from the service station.

He was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery. He was refused bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates court on Monday 18 October.
