Police arrest man for murder, South Australia

A 24 year old Adelaide man has been arrested and charged with the murder of Victor Codea who died on 5 September after being seriously assaulted at Adelaide High School on 28 August.

He is expected to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court this afternoon or tomorrow.

This is the second person to be arrested in connection to this incident.

Detective Inspector Brett Featherby said Victor was lured to the front carpark of Adelaide High School between 9.30pm and 9.40pm on 28 August.

“Police know four males were present at the carpark where Victor was violently assaulted by three of them,” Detective Inspector Featherby said.

“The males left the scene in an older model sedan, and one of Victor’s friends took him to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he received emergency surgery.”

Victor remained in a coma following surgery and died as a result of his injuries in the following days.

Police investigations are continuing and they are seeking further information from the public to assist their investigation.

“We know Victor drove a white 2019 Toyota Corolla to the Welland Shopping Centre prior to the assault. Following the assault the vehicle was driven back to the Welland Shopping Centre where it was recovered by police.”
