Police arrest man in connection with De leso murder, South Australia

Major Crime detectives have today (Thursday 12 December) arrested another person in connection with the shooting murder of Jason De Ieso at his Pooraka workshop on 21 November, 2012.

Today’s arrest was of a man, 33, from Beverley, he is expected to be charged with murder and will appear will be in Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.

Mr De Ieso, 33, was shot dead in his workshop in Langford Street, Pooraka on 21 November, 2012.

SA Police have arrested six people – five men and a woman – in connection with the murder. The men have been charged with murder, and the woman with assisting offenders.

CCTV footage from the premises, previously released by investigators, shows nine men walking towards the front of the business, with at least two of those carrying firearms. The men opened fire, killing Mr De Ieso, before running from the scene.

The murder was believed to be linked to a dispute between the outlaw motorcycle gangs the Finks and the Hells Angels, however police stress that Mr De Ieso was an innocent bystander, caught up in the tensions.

Rewards of up to $500,000 will be paid by the Government of South Australia, at the discretion of the Commissioner of Police, to anyone who provides information and assistance that leads to the conviction of the person responsible for his murder.
