Police arrest man over city damage, South Australia

A man will face court after he damaged two shops and two cars in the city last night.

Just after 5pm, on Thursday 14 August, Eastern Adelaide patrols responded to several calls from members of the public about a man waving a stick around and smashing cars and damaging business premises.

On arrival police located two cars an Audi and a VW Golf that had been damaged, one a front grill had been ripped off and the badges from both cars had been pulled off. The man also had allegedly ripped the door off a cafe in Wright Street and smashed a glass door at a restaurant near the corner of West Terrace.

Police patrols searched the area located a 34-year-old man in Whitmore Square who fitted the description of the suspect.

The man of no fixed place was arrested and charged with four counts property damage, he has been refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.
