Police arrest man over city sexual assaults, South Australia

A man has been arrested over two sexual assaults that allegedly occurred in the Adelaide CBD overnight.

Police will allege about 8.30pm on Friday 27 March, a man gained access to a woman’s home in Adelaide after he purported to be a police officer. The man then allegedly sexually assaulted the woman and stole cash from the house.

Then about 10.30pm on Friday 27 March, it is alleged the man attended another Adelaide home and again purported to be a police officer to gain access to the woman’s home. The woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by the man before he stole cash from the house.

As a result of investigations, Eastern District Detectives arrested a 31-year-old man from the northern suburbs and charged him with two counts of rape, two counts of aggravated robbery and two counts of impersonate a police officer.

He has been refused bail and will front the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
