Police arrest six teens after five robberies in Clayton

Police from Box Hill Embona and Dandenong Southern Metro Crime Team, in a joint operation, arrested six youths in Kew yesterday (5 September).

The youths were arrested in a Commodore with allegedly stolen plates on the Eastern Freeway at 9pm

During the arrests an unloaded firearm was located in very close proximity to the Commodore.

The youths have been linked to a series of assault and robberies in and around Wright Street Clayton, between 7.30 and 8.30pm on 5 September.

The following have been charged with armed robbery and robbery and will appear before a Children’s Court at a later date.

• 17-year-old boy from Cranbourne West

• 15-year-old boy of no fixed address.

• 16-year-old boy from Hallam.

• 15-year-old boy form Clyde North.

• 15-year-old boy from Cranbourne.

• 17-year-old boy from Collingwood.

It is alleged they targeted pedestrians and stole phones, wallets and bags.

Two victims, a 36-year-old man from Clayton and a 21-year-old woman from Cheltenham, received minor injuries during the alleged robberies.

The other victims, a 22-year-old man from Clayton, a 20-year-old man from Rowville, and a 21-year-old man from Glen Waverley were not injured.
