Police arrest teen after city robbery, South Australia

A man has been arrested over a convenience store robbery in the city early this morning.

About 1.30am on Tuesday 25 February, police were called to a convenience store on Hindley Street, after a man allegedly armed with a metal tool threatened a staff member and demanded money.

The victim quickly retreated out the front entrance and shut the doors attempting to keep the suspect inside.

The suspect opened the till and stole money before forcing open the front door. He struck the victim with the tool he was carrying and headed west on Hindley Street before catching a taxi.

The victim received minor injuries as a result of the incident.

The taxi was tracked to a Para Hills home where Northern District patrols attended and arrested a 16-year-old youth.

He was taken to the City Watch House where he is expected to be charged with aggravated robbery.
