Police arrest teen after stolen car crashes at Rosewater, South Australia

Police have arrested a boy and looking for several other persons following the theft of a car from North Adelaide which was involved in a crash at Rosewater this afternoon.

Just after 2.30pm, Friday 13 May, patrols were called to Archer Street, after a white Mercedes was stolen. Just under a hour later, the same car crashed into a tree on Newcastle Street at Rosewater where about seven occupants were seen running from the scene. A short time later, patrols were called to a nearby service station after reports one of the occupants at the business. Patrols attended and arrested a 15-year-old boy from Mile End.

He has been charged with illegal use and drive unlicenced. He has also been charged with theft and illegal interference after police found him possession of a wallet stolen from a car parked in the CBD earlier today. He has been refused bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Youth Court on Monday.

Patrols set up cordons following the crash and carried out a search of the area with the assistance of PD Judge and PD Zeus but were unable to locate the remaining suspects.
