Police arrest teens for break-ins, damage and arson, South Australia

Two teenagers have been arrested for over break-ins, property damage and attempted arson at Morphett Vale today.

About 7.45am on Sunday 5 January, the manager of a Main South Road, Morphett Vale business discovered an attempted break-in had occurred overnight and contacted police.

CCTV showed two offenders allegedly attempting to set fire to the shed and break in through a roller door about 1.45am.

Investigators also became aware of two other nearby incidents believed to be linked, including the overnight break-in and extensive damage to an unoccupied home in Marston Drive and a broken window, damage and attempted arson at a business on Barbara Avenue, Morphett Vale.

Following investigations, detectives from Southern District CIB arrested two local teenagers.

A 17-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy, both from Morphett Vale, were charged with two counts of arson, two counts of serious criminal trespass and two counts of property damage. Neither were granted bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Youth Court on Monday.
