Police arrest three men after house fire in Clayton South

Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit have arrested three men following a house fire in Clayton South last month.

Police executed warrants at three properties this morning in Ormond, St Kilda and Caulfield.

It is understood three men attended a property on Clayton Road about 9.40pm on Monday, 4 April.

It’s alleged one of the men used a baseball bat to smash the windows of the apartment before setting the living room on fire.

The fire completely gutted an apartment which was unoccupied at the time.

The three men then allegedly fled the scene in a silver Kia Stonic.

A 36-year-old Ormond man has been charged and remanded to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.

A 51-year-old St Kilda man and a 40-year-old Ormand man have been released pending summons.
