Police arrest two after firearm discharged in St Albans

Police have responded quickly by arresting two people after a firearm was discharged in St Albans this morning.

Police have been told there was an altercation between three people near a fast-food restaurant on St Albans Road about 8.45am.

A firearm was discharged and the one shot fired impacted a blue Holden Commodore.

A male and female involved in the altercation fled in the Commodore and headed towards a hospital on Furlong Road where the Commodore collided with a marked police vehicle responding to the incident.

The male and female got out of the Commodore and fled on foot in different directions.

The female was arrested inside the hospital and the male was arrested about a block away.

Both are currently in custody and assisting with enquiries.

The other person involved in the initial altercation remains on the run.
