Police arrest two teens after crashing car in Kew

Two thirteen-year-old boys have been arrested by police after they crashed an allegedly stolen car in Kew this morning.

Police have been told the pair were seen running from the car after it crashed into traffic lights on High Street, near the corner of Mary Street, just before 2am.

Local police attended and patrolled nearby before the teens, from Fairfield and McLeod, were located and arrested.

It is believed the car was stolen from Derby Street in Kew just prior to the crash.

The two teens have been charged with theft of motor car and bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
