Police arrest youth after Dandenong stabbing

Detectives from the Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit have charged a 16-year-old Cranbourne North boy following a stabbing at a supermarket on McCrae Street, Dandenong on Thursday 4 August.

It is believed an 18-year-old man was stabbed following a verbal altercation with a group of males just after 4pm, sustaining life-threatening injuries.

The victim was transported to hospital where he underwent surgery for his injuries and spent seven days recovering.

The 16-year-old Cranbourne North boy has been charged with intentionally cause serious injury and remanded to appear before a childrens’ court at a later date.

He is the fourth person arrested in relation to the incident.

On 4 August, a 16-year-old Dandenong North boy was charged with affray and bailed to appear at a childrens’ court at a later date.

A 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, both of Dandenong North, were also arrested at the time and released pending further inquiries.
