Police Charge Five People With Drug, Firearm Supply – Strike Force Bluet

Five people have been arrested and charged with drug and firearm supply offences following an investigation under Strike Force Bluet.

In January 2024, police attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command established Strike Force Bluet to investigate the supply of methamphetamine and firearms in Sydney’s south west.

Following extensive enquiries, police stopped a vehicle on Appin Road, Campbelltown, about 5pm on Wednesday 28 August 2024, where a 34-year-old man and 44-year-old woman were arrested and taken to Campbelltown Police Station.

The vehicle was seized for forensic examination, with a search later locating two loaded pistols, ammunition, more than $41,000 cash and an amount of drugs.

A short time later, an 18-year-old female was arrested in Queen Street, Campbeltown, and taken to Campbelltown Police Station,

Search warrants were executed at addresses in Rosemeadow and Airds, with assistance from South West Metropolitan Operational Support Group.

The 34-year-old man was charged with 28 offences, including:

  • · Ten counts of supply prohibited drug more than indictable and less than commercial quantity
  • · Six counts of supply prohibited drug more than small less than or equal to indictable quantity
  • · Two counts of deal with property proceeds of crime less than $100,000 and less than $5000
  • · Three counts of supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis
  • · Two counts of possess loaded firearm public place
  • · Two counts of possess unauthorised pistol
  • · One count of possess prohibited drug
  • · One count of possess ammunition without holding licence/ permit/ authority
  • · One count of supply prohibited drug more than or equal to commercial quantity

The 44-year-old woman was charged with 27 offences, including:

  • · Fourteen counts of supply prohibited drug more than indictable and less than commercial quantity
  • · Four counts of supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis
  • · Two counts of possess prohibited drug
  • · Two counts of possess loaded firearm public place
  • · Two counts of possess unauthorised pistol
  • · One count of deal with property proceeds of crime less than $100,000 and less than $5000
  • · One count of possess ammunition without holding licence/ permit/ authority
  • · One count of supply prohibited drug more than or equal to large commercial quantity

The 18-year-old female was charged with 17 offences, including:

  • · Eleven counts of supply prohibited drug more than indictable and less than commercial quantity
  • · Three counts of supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis
  • · One count of possess prohibited drug
  • · One count of deal with property proceeds of crime less than $100,000 and less than $5000
  • One count of supply prohibited drug more than or equal to large commercial quantity

All three people appeared before Campbelltown Local Court on Thursday 29 August 2024, where they were refused bail to appear at the same court on Wednesday 30 October 2024.

Following further inquiries, Strike Force Bluet detectives attended an address on Billiken Way, Ambarvale, on Thursday 5 September 2024, where they arrested a 38-year-old man.

He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station and charged with two counts of supply unregistered firearm – not pistol/prohibited firearm and one count of supply shortened firearm (not pistol) to other.

The 38-year-old appeared before Campbelltown Local Court on the same day, where he was refused bail to appear before the same court on Wednesday 25 September 2024.

Following further inquiries, Strike Force Bluet detectives attended an address on Fonthill Place, Airds, on Tuesday 10 September 2024, where they arrested a 46-year-old man.

He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of supply prohibited drug more than indictable and less than commercial quantity, one count of supply unregistered firearm – not pistol/prohibited firearm and one count of supply shortened firearm (not pistol) to other.

He faced Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday 11 September 2024, where he was refused bail to appear before the same court on Wednesday 18 September 2024.
