Police charge man after Epping road rage assault

A man has been charged following a serious road rage assault in Epping yesterday.

Detectives from Whittlesea Crime Investigation Unit executed a search warrant at a Narina Way, Epping address this morning, 10 December.

A 35-year-old man was arrested and subsequently interviewed by detectives.

He has been charged with 15 offences including intentionally cause serious injury, recklessly cause serious injury, conduct endangering life, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, assault with a weapon, threat to inflict serious injury, criminal damage by fire, drive whilst suspended, possess methamphetamine, possess ecstasy, possess cannabis and possess imitation firearm.

He will be presented to the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this afternoon where remand will be sought.

The charges follow an incident outside an Aranda Way address just after 8pm yesterday.

A 19-year-old Lalor man sustained serious burns after a flammable liquid and lit rag was allegedly thrown onto him and his car.
