Detectives from the Arson Squad have charged a man in relation to their investigation into a series of fire in Morley and Bayswater during the morning of Friday, 22 October 2021.
It is alleged between 2am and 3.45am, the man rode his bike through the suburbs of Morley and Bayswater whilst in possession of a liquid accelerant, believed to be petrol. During this time it is alleged he set fire to bins, wooden pallets, a boat and several vehicles at various locations.
The 36-year-old man from Morley has been charged with:-
• Nine counts of Criminal Damage by Fire; and
• One count of Wilfully Attempt to Light a Fire.
He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, 27 October 2021.
