Police charge man after firearm discharged in St Albans

Police have charged a 20-year-old Brooklyn man following a firearms incident in St Albans this morning.

Investigators have been told there was an altercation between three people near a fast-food restaurant on St Albans Road about 8.45am.

A firearm was discharged and the one shot fired hit a blue Holden Commodore.

A man and woman allegedly involved in the altercation fled in the Commodore.

The Commodore was involved in a collision with a marked police vehicle and the man and woman allegedly fled the scene.

They were arrested a short time later.

The Brooklyn man has been charged with reckless conduct endangering life and has been remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 6 September.

A 21-year-old woman from Werribee was released pending further enquires.
