Police charge man after Melton shooting 10 May

Armed Crime Squad detectives have charged a 38-year-old man following a shooting in Melton on Saturday afternoon.

The Kurunjang man handed himself into police yesterday evening.

He was interviewed and charged with attempted murder, reckless conduct endangering life, intentionally cause serious injury and prohibited person use firearm.

Investigators remanded the man in custody to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this morning.

The charges relate to the alleged non-fatal shooting of a 36-year-old Heathcote man on Federation Drive about 3pm.

The victim remains in hospital in a stable condition.
