Police charge man over sexual offences in North Shore

A man will appear in court today charged as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged sexual offences in Sydney’s north.

In December 2021, officers from North Shore Police Area Command established Strike Force Functional to investigate a number of reports of sexual offences in the North Shore area, which were similar in modus operandi.

Forensic inquiries revealed a link in a DNA profile between two of the incidents.

Following extensive investigations, detectives arrested a 25-year-old man at a unit on Prospect Avenue in Cremorne about 8.30am yesterday (Friday 21 January 2022).

He was taken to Chatswood Police Station and charged with two counts of take person intend commit serious indictable offence, two counts of sexually touch another person without consent and carry out sexual act with another without consent.

Police will allege in court that the offences relate to incidents that occurred at Artarmon in December 2018 and Mosman in December 2021.

The man was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 22 January 2022).

Investigations under Strike Force Functional are continuing.
