Police charge man over stabbing – Punchbowl

A man has been charged after another man was allegedly stabbed outside a hotel at Punchbowl overnight.

About 11.15pm (Saturday 29 April 2023), emergency services responded to reports of a man being stabbed outside a licensed premises on Punchbowl Road.

Upon arrival, officers from Campsie Police Area Command located a 47-year-old man with multiple stab wounds.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to hospital for further treatment, however his injuries are not considered to be life threatening.

Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following inquiries, a 43-year-old man was arrested a short time later at a home in Bankstown and was taken to Campsie Police Station.

He was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and affray.

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Sunday 30 April 2023).
