A man has been charged following an investigation into alleged animal cruelty offences in the Broken Hill area.
On Sunday 30 March 2025, Broken Hill police became aware of a series of videos posted to a social media platform depicting alleged acts of animal cruelty.
Following a joint investigation by officers attached to Barrier Police District and the Rural Crime Prevention Team, police executed a search warrant at a house in Broken Hill at 4.00pm yesterday (Tuesday 1 April 2025).
A 21-year-old man was arrested and issued a Court Attendance Notice for five counts of torture, beat and cause prolonged suffering to an animal.
The man is expected to appear at Broken Hill Local Court on Tuesday 13 May 2025.
