Police charge man with drug supply – Daceyville

A man will appear in court today, one of two people charged following investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs in Sydney’s east.

Earlier this month, officers from the Central Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad to established Strike Fore Caned to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs in the Eastern Suburbs and wider Sydney Metropolitan area.

About 4pm yesterday (Monday 29 January 2024), a man attended a parcel locker at Kingsford and collected a box.

He was spoken to by police and during a subsequent search, the box is alleged to have contained items consistent with the manufacture of prohibited drugs.

The 39-year-old man was arrested and taken to Maroubra Police Station.

As part of inquiries, investigators executed a search warrant at a unit on General Bridges Crescent, Daceyville, about 10pm, locating an antique firearm along with equipment and chemicals consistent with drug manufacture.

A crime scene was declared and specialist officers from the Chemical Operations Team were deployed.

The occupant, a 38-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Mascot Police Station.

The man has since been charged with supply prohibited drug – commercial quantity.

He has been refused bail to appear at Waverley Local Court today (Tuesday 30 January 2024).

The woman was charged with possess unauthorised pistol.

She was granted conditional bail to appear at Waverley Local Court on Wednesday 13 March 2024.
