Police charge man with firearms, prohibited weapons and drug offences in Kingswood

A man has been charged after a search of his Kingswood home allegedly revealed two firearms and over 2500 rounds of ammunition in various areas of the home.

On Thursday 10 June 2021, officers from Nepean Police Area Command Proactive Crime Team executed a search warrant at a home on Plunkett Crescent, Kingswood.

The occupant, a man, aged 30, was arrested after officers allegedly located a sawn-off .22 rifle and a replica Glock pistol that functions as a conducted electrical device.

Also seized was a large amount of ammunition, magazines, knuckle dusters, an amount of methylamphetamines, a hand-made stun gun and allegedly stolen property.

The man was taken to Penrith Police Station where he was charged with 14 offences, including;

  • two counts of supply prohibited drug,
  • possess ammunition without holding a licence,
  • possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit,
  • possess unauthorised firearm,
  • possess unregistered firearm – prohibited firearm,
  • not keep firearm safely – prohibited firearm,
  • possess unauthorised pistol,
  • knowingly possess identity plate not on correct vehicle,
  • goods in custody,
  • knowingly deal with proceeds of crime,
  • possess prescribed restricted substance, and
  • drive conveyance taken without consent of owner.

Police will conduct further inquiries in relation to the seized items.

He was refused bail and will appear in Penrith Local Court today (Friday 11 June 2021).
