Police charge man with more than 100 offences by Whittlesea detectives

Whittlesea Crime Investigation Units detectives have reduced their crime rate with the arrest of a man charged with more than 100 offences committed in Melbourne’s northern suburbs past two months.

The 35-year-old Epping man was arrested in Dallas yesterday with investigators allegedly locating a large amount of property believed to have been stolen in burglaries and thefts from motor vehicles in the north-western suburbs up to the Seymour area.

Jewellery items including pendants, bracelets, rings and necklaces were located at the address as well as various power tools and a stolen motor vehicle.

The man was subsequently interviewed and has been charged in relation to over 100 offences, which include, aggravated burglary, burglary, intentionally cause injury, theft, handle stolen goods, obtain property by deception, drug offences and traffic offences.

He is expected to appear at the Heidelberg Magistrates’ Court later this afternoon.
