Police charge two after man assaulted in Campsie

Two men have been charged after another man was assaulted in Sydney’s south-west last night.

About 7.15pm (Saturday 7 March 2020), police were called to Beamish Street, Campsie, following reports of a brawl after a group of men left a nearby restaurant.

Officers from Campsie Police Area Command attended and found a 48-year-old man suffering a head injury after reportedly being struck with an object.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.

The group had fled prior to police attending; however, officers arrested two men, aged 32 and 47, nearby.

A third man, aged 30, was arrested after he presented to Campsie Police Station about 8.30pm.

They were all taken to Burwood Police Station.

The 47-year-old man was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of other(s), and affray.

The 30-year-old man was charged with affray.

Both men were granted conditional bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on Tuesday 7 April 2020

The 32-year-old man was released pending further investigation.
