Police charge two over Truganina carjacking

Police have arrested two people following an alleged carjacking in Truganina last week.

Investigators were told the victim, a 49-year-old Lara man, stopped to assist the offenders after they crashed their vehicle in Tilwinda Place at about 12.45am on 25 July.

It is believed that when he got out of his vehicle, he was set upon by the offenders.

He was knocked unconscious and fell to the ground, the offenders continued to assault him.

The offenders then allegedly stole his Hyundai Accent hatchback.

A 24-year-old man from Sunshine was arrested on 26 July and charged with aggravated carjacking and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

He will face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on August 1.

A 23-year-old Lynbrook woman was arrested today.

She was charged with aggravated carjacking and obtain property by deception and was remanded at court today.
