Police charge two people with commercial drug supply in Eastern Beaches

A man and a woman have been charged following investigations into ongoing drug across the Sydney metropolitan area.

In May this year, detectives from eastern Beaches Police Area Command Strike Force Ractari to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs.

Following extensive investigations, detectives arrested a 37-year-old man outside his unit complex on Rhodes Street, Hillsdale.

Officers then searched his BMW and allegedly found 500g of cannabis in the boot, followed by a search of his home that revealed 86.5g of cocaine, 35g cannabis, 8g MDMA and more than $7000 in cash.

During the search a woman, aged 35, arrived at the location and she was also arrested.

The pair were taken to Maroubra Police Station where they were both charged with a string of offences including:

  • Supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis
  • Supply prohibited drug >= commercial quantity
  • Knowingly deal with the proceeds of crime
  • Owner/occupier knowingly expose child to drugs
  • Drive motor vehicle while licence suspended

They were refused bail and will appear in Waverley Local Court today (Thursday 22 October 2020).
