Police charge two teens after assault – Currans Hill

Two teenage boys will appear in court today charged after an alleged assault in Sydney’s south west this week.

Just after 4.30pm on Tuesday (16 May 2023), police were called to Glenfield Drive, Currans Hill, following reports of suspicious behaviour.

Officers attached to Camden Police Area Command attended and found a 16-year-old boy suffering facial injuries and a head laceration.

Police have been told the teen was the passenger in a vehicle when two unknown males got in and allegedly assaulted him by repeatedly punching him in the face.

The teen managed to escape’ however, as he ran away, he was allegedly struck to the back of the head with a hammer.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Liverpool Hospital for further treatment.

Following inquiries, police attended a home at McDonald Road, Bardia about 2pm yesterday (Wednesday 17 May 2023), and arrested two teenage boys, aged 16 and 17.

They were taken to Narellan Police Station where they were both charged with reckless wounding in company.

The older boy was also charged with breach of bail.

Both have been refused bail to appear before a children’s court today (Thursday 18 May 2023).
