Police charge woman after fatal collision in North Geelong

Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit have charged a woman following a fatal collision in North Geelong on 11 May.

A blue Mitsubishi sedan and a blue Volkswagen Golf collided head-on on Thompson Road about 3.35pm.

The male driver and only occupant of the Mitsubishi, a 88-year-old North Geelong man, received life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital where he later died.

The female driver and only occupant of the Volkswagen received non-life threatening injuries and was conveyed to hospital.

The 26-year-old woman from Winchelsea has been charged with one count of culpable driving and will appear at Geelong Magistrates Court tomorrow.
