Police charge woman over colliding with police vehicle in stolen carin Brisbane and Gold Coast

Police have charged a woman after she allegedly stole a vehicle in Brisbane overnight before ramming a police vehicle on the Gold Coast this morning.

It will be alleged that sometime between midnight and 2am today (September 22), a white 2020 BMW hatchback and a white 2017 BMW coupe were stolen from an address at Hawken Drive, St Lucia.

Around 8.20am, police tracked the 2020 BMW hatchback travelling eastbound on Ashmore Road at Bundall where the female driver allegedly deliberately collided with a marked police vehicle before fleeing the scene.

No one was injured during this incident.

Around 9.30am, the vehicle was further tracked to the intersection of Archipelago Street and Penrhyn Street a Pacific Pines where a Tyre Deflation Device (TDD) was successfully deployed.

The vehicle then travelled approximately one kilometre before coming to a halt at Corai Close, Pacific Pines, where a woman exited the vehicle on foot.

Officers arrested the woman in a nearby park.

A 20-year-old Pacific Pines woman has been charged with one count each of burglary, receiving tainted property, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

She is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on October 5.

Investigations continue.
