Police charge youth after robbery

On 4 February 2020, Perth Detectives charged three male youths as a result of their investigation into an incident that occurred in Perth on Thursday 2 January 2020.

Around 5.30pm, a group of approximately 10 youths caught a train into the city and walked to the Globe Lane area where they surrounded three male victims (2 x 13 years, 1 x 14 years).

The group surrounded the victims and it is alleged the three offenders began assaulting the victims and demanded they hand over items of property whilst using violence and threats of violence.

The victims declined to give their property and it is alleged the offenders then kicked and punched the victims before leaving with a mobile phone, cash and bag belonging to the victims.

The three youths, a 17-year-old and 15-year-old both from Koongamia, and a 16-year-old from South Hedland were arrested by police on 4 February and each charged with three counts of Aggravated Robbery. They are due to appear in court later this month.
