Police investigate affrays in North Wollongong

An investigation is underway following two affrays in the Wollongong area at the weekend.

Police have been told there was an argument about 5.30pm Saturday (16 April 2022), involving two staff members and three patrons at a hotel on Flinders Street, North Wollongong.

A short time later, the five men – the patrons aged 25, 24 and 22 and the two employees – began to fight.

The three men left the scene a short time later and walked to a nearby shop, where they were approached by the same two men and two other unknown men – who assaulted them.

The fight continued in the carpark, with the four men fleeing the scene as police arrived just after 6pm.

Officers from Wollongong Police District located the three patrons suffering minor injuries.

They were taken to Wollongong Police Station to assist police with the investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
