Police investigate armed robbery at Bowen Hills

Fortitude Valley detectives investigating the alleged assault and robbery of a woman at Bowen Hills last Saturday, May 11, have released images of two women who may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Around 9.45pm a 33-year-old Brisbane woman was in the process of leaving a university car park at Gardens Point when two women approached her.

Police will allege they asked for a lift and without approval jumped into the woman’s vehicle.

She was then instructed to drive to Hurworth Street, Bowen Hills where one of the women exited the vehicle, waiting nearby.

The other woman advised the victim she had a knife before punching her several times to the head and demanding her car keys.

The 33-year-old handed over her keys before running from the vehicle.

The woman attempted to drive the car however was unable to do so.

Both women then fled on foot with one catching a train on the Redcliffe line at Bowen Hills Railway Station (image – blonde hair, red jumper).

Anyone who recognises the women is asked to contact police (details below).

The victim sustained bruising and swelling to her check and eye.
