Police investigate armed robbery at Deception Bay

Police have charged a 42-year-old man following an alleged armed robbery at Deception Bay last night.

Just before 11:30pm, the man entered a Bay Avenue fast food restaurant and allegedly threatened staff with a crow bar.

The man stole a small sum of money before fleeing the premises.

No one was physically injured.

A short time later, police noticed a vehicle that was allegedly driving erratically. Police intercepted the vehicle and arrested the driver.

The Margate man was charged with one count of armed robbery and will appear in Redcliffe Magistrates Court today.
